2014 CPI Innovation Award
Dow's Alan Robinson and Juan Carlos Medina receive CPI Innovation Award.
Dow and Preferred Sands, LLC., were recognized with the 2014 Polyurethane Innovation Award. Presented by the Center for Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council, the award honored Preferred RCS Resin Coated Sand with Dow Teraforce Technology for its role in helping improve oil productivity and the environmental profile of the hydraulic fracturing process. The Dow Teraforce resin enables production of the Preferred RCS product line using less energy while minimizing environmental impact compared to phenolic resins, according to Dow.The annual Polyurethane Innovation Award identifies the role that advancements in the industry play and recognizes companies and individuals who bring new products, technologies and initiatives to the marketplace. Preferred RCS Resin Coated Sand with Dow Teraforce Technology was also honored by R&D Magazine as one of the 100 most influential innovations in 2013.
