Senior Chemist/Group Leader and Argonne Distinguished Fellow

Jeff Elam leads Argonne National Laboratory’s Functional Coatings Group in the Applied Materials division. The group develops coating technologies for a diverse range of applications including energy storage, photodetectors, and water purification. 

Argonne’s advanced materials capabilities and intellectual property are available to scientific firms and industry through research and development projects and technology licensing. Argonne can create design-optimized solutions for materials manufacturing challenges that reduce costs, improve performance and increase the lifespan of membrane materials.

Jeff has won five R&D 100 Awards and holds numerous patents.
