Registration and housing is open for WEFTEC 2016, the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) 89th annual technical exhibition and conference scheduled for September 24-28 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. WEFTEC features 130 technical sessions, 29 workshops, seven local facility tours, events and more than 900 exhibitors, according to WEF. Attendees can design their own learning experiences and earn continuing education credits. Attendees can also interact directly with global water experts through mobile sessions, product demonstrations, the Innovation Showcase and specially designed pavilions.
Stormwater Congress, co-located with WEFTEC, will offer focused programming and provide access to all conference exhibitors, including those in the 5,000-square-foot Stormwater Pavilion. The Opening General Session features keynote speaker Joe Whitworth, president of The Freshwater Trust—a non-profit organization that protects and restores freshwater ecosystems through science, technology and incentive-based solutions. Other conference highlights include the Water Leaders session, Mix with Members reception, annual community outreach project, special sessions for the oil and gas industry, poster sessions, a design competition and the 29th annual Operations Challenge competition.
