Registration and housing is now open for WEFTEC 2018, the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) 91st annual technical exhibition and conference. Scheduled for September 29 through October 3 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, WEFTEC is a place for WEF members and water professionals from around the world to learn, connect and explore new, regenerative ways to shape the future of water, according to the organization.

The ReGeneration, with a capital G, is a modern movement that refers to a diverse group of globally connected, innovative, and like-minded individuals of all ages and nationalities who share a common interest in renewable resources, recycling and other means of sustaining the earth’s natural environment. That describes WEFTEC, where water professionals, industry experts and innovative companies from around the world will join together in one place to grow their knowledge-base, expand their professional and business networks and access today’s most advanced technologies and solutions for sustainable water management and resource recovery.

The 2018 technical program and exhibition reportedly includes 130 technical sessions, 29 workshops, seven local facility tours, numerous events and more than 900 exhibitors who will show off the latest developments, research, solutions and cutting-edge technologies. A wide range of topics within more than 30 focus areas allow attendees to design their own unique learning experience with the opportunity to earn continuing education credits. Attendees will also find increased opportunities to interact directly with global water experts through mobile sessions, product demonstrations, the popular Innovation Showcase and more than a dozen specially designed pavilions.

The Opening General Session will kick off the conference with a presentation from keynote speaker Kevin Brown, reportedly a highly sought after motivational speaker and author of The Hero Effect. Brown will share his ideas, strategies and principles that will inspire water professionals to recognize and embrace their identity as everyday heroes who show up and give their best when it matters most. Other conference highlights include the Mix with Members reception, Stormwater Congress, the annual WEF Community Service Project, special sessions for the oil and gas industry, sessions featuring the video-based educational format (Interactive Knowledge Exchange - IKE), poster sessions, the design competition and the 31st annual Operations Challenge competition.
