Hungarian cleantech firm Resysten offers an anti-bacterial coating that protects surfaces up to a year no matter how many times they are touched or cleaned.

An innovative technology from Hungarian cleantech startup Resysten can protect surfaces for up to a year, potentially preventing the spread of COVID-19, according to an article from Emerging Europe. The company’s anti-bacterial coating WhiteTitan is reportedly activated through the power of light – and remains that way – on any surface no matter how many times it is touched or cleaned.

According to the article, WhiteTitan is sprayed onto a surface and then bonds at the nano level. The product is currently  being used in Hungary in hospitals, public transit systems and in the food industry. A New England Journal of Medicine study reportedly found that SARS-Cov-2 – the virus that causes Covid-19 – can survive for hours or even days depending on the surface.
