Magnetic Drive Technology Can Improve Pump Motor Life

Jan. 23, 2011
The Flojet magnetic drive technology behind these pumps includes a motor driving a set of magnets, eliminating the need for motor shaft seals.

ITT Flojet's new line of magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps handle wide-ranging applications, including condensate removal, laser cooling, agricultural sprayers, metal recovery processes, degreasers, optical lens manufacturing, ultrasonic cleaner, plating machines, fish farming, semiconductor manufacturing, cleaning systems, printing equipment, hot and cold media recirculation, water treatment plants and humidifier equipment.

The Flojet magnetic drive technology behind these pumps includes a motor driving a set of magnets, eliminating the need for motor shaft seals. This creates a temperature barrier between the motor and the media, which can improve the life of the motor and reduce heat transfer to the media. The durable polypropylene and Ryton housings and ceramic spindles allow for maximum chemical resistance.

Models are available with flow rates from 4.6 to 14.5 gpm and with motors in AC and DC voltages.
