Magnetically Coupled Centrifugal Pumps Eliminate Need For Motor Shaft Seals

Dec. 27, 2010
The Flojet magnetic drive technology behind these pumps includes a motor driving a set of magnets, eliminating the need for motor shaft seals.
ITT Flojet launched a line of magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps designed for various applications including condensate removal, laser cooling, agricultural sprayers, metal-recovery processes, degreasers, optical lens manufacturing, ultrasonic cleaning, plating machines, fish farming, semiconductor manufacturing, cleaning systems, printing equipment, hot and cold media recirculation, water treatment plants and humidifier equipment.   The Flojet magnetic drive technology behind these pumps includes a motor driving a set of magnets, eliminating the need for motor shaft seals. This creates a temperature barrier between the motor and the media, which can improve the life of the motor and reduce heat transfer to the media. The polypropylene and Ryton housings and ceramic spindles allow for maximum chemical resistance.
