The CeraComp ceramic-matrix composite reportedly offers benefits over traditional silicon-carbide materials. Its fracture and wear resistance expands the reliability of sealless pumps by eliminating the risk of failure, thus reducing maintenance costs, says the company. CeraComp is said to withstand temperatures over 1,100°F (600°C), exceeding the upper limit of polymeric and elastomeric composites, and maintains chemical resistance for improved durability and extended component life.
