DEM Solutions has introduced an EDEM CFD Coupling Interface, which enables coupling of EDEM with any proprietary, open source or in-house multi-phase CFD solver to simulate fully coupled particle-fluid flow at the particle-scale.
The interface is suited for industrial and academic R&D to model processes such as fluidized beds, pneumatic and hydrodynamic transport of solids, solid-liquid mixing, and many other particle-fluid systems.
The new CFD Coupling Interface extends its capability to any CFD software with a multi-phase solver. It enables development of coupled DEM-CFD solutions using DEM simulation software.
The CFD Coupling Interface can access the custom particle property functions via the EDEM API providing a means of simulating any particle-fluid interaction including momentum, heat and mass transfer.
