Pump Comes with Early Warning System
Onboard pump intelligence is now a standard feature of ANSI Model 3196 pump at no increase in price. The new i-FRAME provides early warning of trouble so that changes to the process or machine can be made before failure occurs. The i-FRAME’s stainless steel condition monitor is nested securely atop the power end to measure critical vibration and temperature readings. Variations in temperature or vibration that exceed preset parameters will activate the early warning system by displaying flashing red lights easily recognized during routine walk-arounds.

Level Switch Measures and Communicates Results
The Gladiator Smart Admittance Switch probe is said to be immune to build-up. The switch is designed to detect the level of liquid, slurry or powder in a tank or vessel. The unit measures the capacitance or “admittance” between a probe and the wall of the container. As the level of the product rises to the level of the probe, or drops below that level, the capacitance measured at the probe changes. The switch detects this change and produces an output. It can monitor materials with a wide range of dielectric constants, so the system is applicable to a large variety of liquids, slurries and powders.

Heat Transfer Fluid Remains Stable for Extended Periods

Thermal Imager Monitors High TemperatureThe High Temperature Heat Spy model HSI3002 thermal imaging camera measures in the range of 392°F–1,652°F (200°C–900°C), and especially suits applications requiring high temperature measurements. . This thermal imager is said to be affordable as well as light, compact, easy to operate, and designed for hand-held use. It also features a tripod mount for remote use. It is fully radiometric and measures the temperature of every pixel. The Easy Report software allows the user to easily insert multiple images, with data, taken during a site survey to produce an inspection report.

Agitators Aim to Cut Maintenance Costs, Parts Inventory

The Model 20 HT/GT top-entering agitators feature a swing out seal change design for easy seal maintenance and reduced maintenance cost. With these agitators, there is reportedly no need to lift or remove the gearbox, saving labor and downtime. For replacement of the mechanical seal, simply rotate the gearbox 90° around the pivot pin. The top of the seal pedestal opens for a clear, line-of-sight view and ample room for easy removal of the coupling half and seal assembly. The agitators also have a modular design package that reduces the number of replacement parts that need to be carried in inventory.

Weight Controllers Include Network Communications
Only three inches deep, the HI 4050 general-purpose weight controller is now available with Allen-Bradley Remote I/O (RIO) network communications. The HI 4050 RIO interface is a direct replacement for the HI 2151/30WC and HI 2110WI weighing instruments with RIO, as well as some competitors’ weighing instruments with RIO. The weight controller includes Waversaver to eliminate the effects of surrounding vibration for fast, stable weight display, C2 electronic calibration without test weights, a Secure Digital (SD) based Secure Memory Module card for fast transfer of configuration data, and Integrated Technician for system diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Software Enables Sharing Schematics Throughout Plant
OpenPlant PowerPID software for process and instrumentation diagrams is based on a completely open data model. The data are stored and maintained in a neutral, nonproprietary format that can be accessed by any application that is mapped to the ISO 15926 schema. So, any data that are mapped to the ISO 15926 schema can natively interoperate with OpenPlant PowerPID. This means that any plant schematics created with the software can be shared without application programming interfaces.

Tubing Extends Heat Exchanger Life

Fluoropolymer FEP and PFA tubing can be formed and welded into heat exchanger transport lines that offer a non-stick, bacteria free transport of deionized water and corrosive media. Unlike steel, which is susceptible to corrosion and bacteria build up, fluoropolymer tubing, with its >0.01% moisture absorption, withstands almost any harsh chemicals, except those with fluorine and alkali metals. Based on these properties, corrosion and contaminants will not damage fluoropolymer tubing and the result is a leak free, low maintenance alternative to metallic tubing. The tubing operates in temperatures up to 500°F/260°C and has a low coefficient of friction, thus reducing downtime for cleaning and routine maintenance.
