Metso has announced an upgrade of the Neles intelligent valve controller ND9000. The valve controller is designed to improve diagnostics and control performance, robustness and the ease and efficiency of commissioning.

Some of the ND9000's features include guided quick start-up and automatic calibration and a local user interface on any valve. Other enhancements include faster calibration, improved usability, linearization, and upgraded commissioning. The calibration time of the ND9000 has been reduced by 30% to 75%, depending on the actuator volume. It also includes instant reaction to buttons and a running index showing the progress of the calibration run.

When assembled on linear valves, linearization can be carried out using a guided process. In addition, improvements to the robustness of the ND9000 have been boosted to meet demanding field conditions.

Faster calibration capabilities of the ND9000 can reduce the commissioning time during start-up and maintenance. In addition, online performance diagnostics and predictive maintenance features can reduce life cycle costs.
