New product’s user interface and functional capabilities will be demonstrated to delegates at Paris conference.

Aveva is offering delegates of its World Summit 2012 a preview and live demonstration of its new 3D design software product. Details of the product’s user interface and functional capabilities will be revealed at the event, which will be held Oct. 10-12 in Paris.

According to Aveva's CEO Dave Wheeldon, the product will support new and improved ways of working and facilitate faster project deployment, using mobile computing to offer customers greater control and visibility across the design chain.

The vision for the new product includes "real world" 3D modeling that combines the best 3D graphics and laser scanning point clouds; 2D drawing that is fully automated and integrated with the 3D model; full interoperability with other design systems; an architecture that supports project reuse and modular design; and an integration with laser scanning point clouds for dimensional control in construction.
