Torque Transducers Also Measure Speed

Sept. 9, 2013
The T40B and T40FM torque transducers measure speed with a high-resolution, 1,024-pulse output.

The T40B and T40FM torque transducers include a speed measurement system for measuring both torque and speed (rpm) at the same time. The transducers integrate an anisotropic magnetoresistive contactless sensor with the speed measurement sensor to save space and make installation easier. This design reportedly makes them suitable for harsh environments, such as those that contain humidity, condensation, dust, oil and grease. The devices measure speed with a high-resolution, 1,024-pulse output. The transducers feature torque measuring ranges of up to 80,000 Newton-meters, low measurement uncertainty, temperature stability, and up to 0.03% of full-scale linearity and hysteresis combined.
