Applications that require accuracy for volumetric flow rate or totalizing of liquids, gases and steam.

Invensys Operations Management has released its Foxboro I/A Series Model 84F (Style B) vortex flow meter. Designed for applications that require accuracy for volumetric flow rate or totalizing of liquids, gases and steam, the Model 84F is used for utility metering of fluids in the process industries; fuel, air, steam or gas metering for the measurement of energy in any high-use application; and stable and repeatable flow measurements for process control.

Also suited for the oil and gas industries, specifically high-pressure pipeline applications for both gases (and vapors) and liquids, the flow meter transmits a 4 to 20 mA or digital multidrop, as well as a pulse output signal, as applicable, using HART communication protocol for remote configuration, calibration and monitoring. Enabling local configuration, an onboard LCD indicator/configurator is equipped with patented DirectSense technology, which incorporates the sensor directly into the flow stream to maximize the vortex pulse strength.

Key capabilities of the Foxboro I/A Series Model 84F vortex flow meter also include no moving parts or bearings to wear, reducing maintenance and downtime; accuracy of ±0.5% of reading in liquids and ±1.0% of reading in gas and steam; ¾-inch to 12-inch (DN15 to DN300) flanged body designs; direct sensing of the vortex shedding; high-pressure ratings to ANSI class 1500 and PN160; and a wide selection of construction materials.
