Flow Transmitters Handle Water Glycol-Based Heat Exchange

The DN-420 series Vortex flow transmitters are suitable for liquid media flow monitoring and control in ¼-inch to ¾-inch piping systems. These transmitters utilize the Kármán Vortex Trail principle of operation.

In DN420 transmitters, piezoelectric sensors embedded in an ETFE vane located downstream of the bluff detect generated vortices. The frequency measured represents the flow velocity. A flow factor is provided to convert frequency to volume flow rate for each model size. Each model is provided with a frequency/pulse output and a linear 4-20 mA output proportional to flow. Output is updated every two seconds. Available options include a 1000 Ohm RTD temperature sensor.

DN420 series Vortex flow transmitters are suitable for water and water glycol based heat exchange systems with flow ranges from 0.3 to 22 GPM. Wetted materials for flow transmitters include ETFE and EPDM, ASTM-PPA, Polyphthalamide, and ISO-PA6T/6I, Grivory 40% GF. The transmitters have an accuracy up to 50% fs: ≤ 1% fs from 50% fs: ≤ 2% of measured value.
