Self-Regulating Cable Suits High-Temperature Applications

Sept. 26, 2010
Chromalox SRP cable can be used in applications where operating temperatures are too high for standard freeze-protection cables or where caustic lines may be steam cleaned.

Chromalox is now offering a new self-regulating cable for process industries. Chromalox SRP Cable uses the highest grade conductive polymer materials, making it suitable for process temperature maintenance to 225 degrees Fahrenheit and freeze protection in the alternative fuels, power generation, oil and gas, chemicals, food, and pulp and paper industries.

Chromalox SRP cable can be used in applications where operating temperatures are too high for standard freeze-protection cables or where caustic lines may be steam cleaned. The cables are manufactured in 5-, 10- and 15-watt versions with operating voltages of 120 to 277 volts. Major industrial approvals with Factory Mutual, CSA, UL, ATEX and IECex are pending.

Pending certifications for Chromalox SRP cable include Division 1, Division 2, Zone 1 and Zone 2 certifications through ATEX, CSA, Factory Mutual, IECex and UL.

Chromalox SRP cable is available in voltages to 277 volts and wattages to 15 watts per foot in braid only or Teflon over jacketed configurations.
