May 22, 2012
Theme will be "Maximizing Safety and Mitigating Risk through Effective Use of Personnel and Technology."

marcus evans has announced that the 3rd Process Safety Management Conference for the Chemical, Petrochemical & Refining Industries will be held Sept. 12-14 in Houston. While the venue has yet to be confirmed, the theme of this year’s conference will be “Maximizing Safety and Mitigating Risk Through Effective Use of Personnel and Technology.”

The conference aims to generate awareness on the evolution of risk mitigation and safety processes. By attending, delegates have the chance to learn how to master the latest regulatory concerns, as well as gain the necessary tools to improve progress safety management (PSM) efforts.

Beginning with two pre-conference workshops, attendees are able to benefit from a presentation format that consists of workshops, panel discussions and case studies. They will experience interactive conference sessions, 10-15 minutes of Q&A time after each presentation, over four hours of networking, and exclusive online access to post-event materials.

This year’s program covers topics on building a streamlined MOC program; complying with OSHA combustible dust National Emphasis Program (NEP) in the development of control mechanisms; identifying recent regulatory changes to OSHA standards with PSM; integrating technology and performance measures through LOPA; and assessing fundamental components of risk mitigation through PHA.
