Energy Sustainability Conference To Focus On Process Industries

A conference on energy sustainability in process industries will take place June 5-8 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The cosponsors of the conference are The American Institute of Chemical Engineers and DECHEMA, the German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

The Global Conference on Energy Sustainability in the Process Industries will include a keynote address on June 6 by C.J. Guo, Shell’s Beijing-based emerging technology theme lead.

Guo will discuss the long-term prospects for fossil-fuel resources, the impact of biofuels on transportation, the role of carbon capture and sequestration and the diversity of energy sources needed to meet global demand.

Sessions through the rest of the conference will define research needs, examine recent technical advances and discuss strategies for implementing energy-saving solutions across a range of industries. Speakers from China, Denmark, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands and the United States are among those scheduled to participate.

AICHE and DECHEMA members receive a registration discount, and an additional early-registration discount applies through May 2. The conference rate includes breakfasts, lunches, an opening reception and a conference banquet. Busing from the official conference hotel is included.
