(Mitsui USA) is engaged in business investment, project development and management, and capital goods leasing and technology transfer, in addition to traditional businesses of a Sogo Shosha (general trading company) such as import, export, off-shore trade and domestic wholesale. The company was incorporated in New York in 1966.

    Toshikazu Tanaka

    President and CEO

    Tanaka has been president and CEO of Mitsui Chemicals since June 24, 2009. He is responsible for overall management of the company. After graduating from Kyushu University, Tanaka joined Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals Inc. in 1968 and gained experience in marketing and sales of phenol and other industrial chemicals. After the merger of Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals Inc. and Mitsui Petrochemicals Industries, Ltd., Tanaka helped launch the company’s phenol business. As executive vice president, Tanaka assisted the president and CEO in overall management. In 2007, he led the team which compiled the company’s 2008 midterm business plan. Since last autumn’s global economic crisis, Tanaka took a leadership role in compiling emergency countermeasures and their execution to meet volatile market conditions.

  • Kenji Fujiyoshi


    Fujiyoshi has been serving as chairman of the board of Mitsui Chemicals Inc. since June 24, 2010, according to Reuters news service. He joined the company in April 1969. His previous titles include president, representative director, director of research development management in main research and development unit, managing director and senior managing director.

    Senior Managing Executive Officer

    Suzuki has been serving as senior managing executive officer and director in Mitsui Chemicals Inc. since April 2012, according to Reuters news service. His previous titles include chief director of Advanced Chemical Business, managing director, director of business planning, executive officer, director of Fine Chemicals Business in Functional Chemicals Business Group, senior managing director, manager of research and development strategy office and managing executive officer of the company.
