International firms to debut products at Chem Show

Sept. 13, 2007
Innovative products and technologies previously unseen in the United States will be debuted by nearly 50 companies from 15 different countries at the Chem Show, Tuesday, October 30 through Thursday, November 1, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, N.Y.

The increasing number of international participants reflects the growing globalization of the chemical process industries (CPI).

IEC, The latest technological developments in the CPI could easily come from Asia or Latin America, according to Clay Stevens, president of show organizer IEC. “You never know where new technology or innovative products will come from,” he says. “Many CPI professionals at every Chem Show tell us they saw products or discovered new solutions from international companies they didn’t even know existed.”

Asia, Europe, South America and other corners of the globe will join more than 550 U.S.-based exhibitors in sharing technologies and solutions with 10,000 CPI professionals from around the world.

“The Chem Show is a great platform for us to introduce our innovations since nearly half of our equipment is exported to the U.S.,” says Connie Bird, marketing manager for U.K.-based Powder Systems Limited (PSL). “At the 2005 show a meeting took place at the booth that was a key part of the decision making process to use PSL for projects in excess of $2 million.”

Among the new products being showcased by exhibiting companies based outside are:

  • High containment process systems for the latest generation of potent drugs, both pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical
  • Hyperbolic blowers
  • Valves, flanges, fittings and other pipeline products
  • Ball and super alloy valves
  • Centrifugal casting machines and foundries
