Heat Transfer Fluid Exhibits Thermal Stability at 325 Degrees Celsius

July 30, 2008

Solutia Inc. introduces Therminol 62, the newest addition to the Therminol heat transfer fluid family. These heat transfer fluids can meet the operating needs of virtually any single or multiple heat-using system. In properly designed systems, these fluids will perform within their respective temperature ranges for extended periods without breakdown or corrosion. Therminol 62 is a first-intent heat transfer fluid whose chemistry is custom contoured for high performance, low pressure and thermal stability at temperatures of up to 325 degrees Celsius (620 degrees Fahrenheit). Therminol 62 is engineered to resist system fouling and solid formation, allowing systems to operate more reliably and save money. Users can expect years of trouble-free operation, even when operating continuously at the recommended maximum temperature. Therminol 62 is designed for typical liquid phase heat transfer fluid systems that operate at low pressures.

Therminol 62 can be used in a wide variety of industries, including:

  • Oil and gas processing
  • Biodiesel
  • Chemicals
  • Plastics
