IIT energy meter offers real-time Btu measurement
For any facility that uses or handles large volumes of natural gas, this new meter offers advantages previously not available. It uses inputs of Speed-of-Sound (SOS), pressure, and, temperature along with values for nitrogen and carbon dioxide. SOS is derived from a facility's ultrasonic meter, and IIT will interface with any of the major ultrasonic meters on the market. The continuous energy analysis allows meter output to be used for control purposes. Meter operation derives from the Inferential Gas Properties algorithm licensed from Southwest Research Institute. Various communication options allow connections to a gas chromatograph, other local and remote devices. Wireless operation and flash data storage are also available.
