Charles Skeen was named head of Clariant's newly-opened Engineering Project Center, North America, in Louisville, Kentucky. The new facility provides project management and engineering services for current and future capital projects, says Kenneth Golder, North American region head of Clariant. The Engineering Center is part of the Clariant global engineering and technology organization.

Skeen has held engineering and manufacturing positions in the chemical industry for 24 years. His previous experience includes Maverick Technologies, The Dow Chemical Company and Rohm and Haas. Skeen earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisville.

Engineering Project Center staff members are currently overseeing construction of Clariant’s new polypropylene catalyst production plant in Louisville, site of Clariant’s largest US production hub. The Engineering Center is also leading the second expansion of Clariant’s ethoxylation site in Clear Lake (Pasadena), Texas.  It will provide the necessary capacity to meet demand for personal and home care products for fast growing markets in the Americas.
