Arkema brings new Kynar PVDF capacities on stream at its Changshu platform near Shanghai. This represents a 25% increase in its production capacities in China, according to Arkema, which runs PVDF production plants on three continents (Europe, North America and Asia). The new investment in Kynar fluoropolymers will reportedly enable Arkema to continue sustaining its customers’ growth in Asia, particularly in the new energies (batteries and photovoltaics) and water management markets, as well as in more traditional applications.

Arkema’s PVDF plant in Changshu has undergone a significant expansion since its start-up in 2011, according to the company. Following a 50% capacity increase in 2012 and the current 25% increase, the plant is sized to meet the further growth in the region.
