Emerson DeltaV DCS Passes Control System Recertification

March 21, 2016
DeltaV DCS repeats Achilles Practices Certification for cybersecurity best practices based on IEC 62443-2-4.

Emerson Process Management’s DeltaV version 12.3 distributed control system (DCS) and its security project and engineering support services passes the Achilles Practices Certification (APC) annual recertification of security best practices. Wurldtech, a supplier of cyber security solutions for operational technology environments, performed the audit for certifying systems, devices and practices. The IEC 62443-2-4 standard defines security requirements to be used by integration and maintenance service providers of industrial automation and control systems. Due to evolving cyber threats, Emerson updates its DeltaV DCS with system hardening and cybersecurity service offerings to meet APC annual recertification.

Supporting industry standard security requirements set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Wurldtech created its certification program to independently verify that manufacturer policies and practices meet or exceed IEC 62443-2-4 requirements, according to the company.
