Ashland Inc. issues a new third-edition update to its Performance Specialties Reference Guide. The in-depth tool covers Ashland industrial specialty products worldwide used in applications, including:

  • Inks and printing
  • Adhesives
  • Specialty coatings
  • Civil engineering
  • Advanced and traditional ceramics
  • Electronics
  • Battery manufacturing
  • Metal processing and metal working
  • Mining
  • Textile
  • Paper coatings

Products in the guide are divided into four major groups: vinyl monomers, performance polymers, specialty chemicals and surfactants, solvents and intermediates. They cover the core chemistries sold through Ashland’s Performance Specialties unit: hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), methylcellulose (MC), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) and vinyl pyrrolidones and its derivatives. 

The reference guide provides detailed descriptions of chemistry types, chemical characterizations, functionality, physical properties, performance characteristics, applications and benefits. It also provides a complete list of generic chemical names for Ashland’s trademarked brand name products.
