Univar Announces Key Chemical Acquisition

Univar USA Inc. acquires all outstanding stock of Key Chemical, Inc.
Univar USA Inc. acquires all outstanding stock of Key Chemical, Inc., a large supplier of hydrofluosilicic acid (fluoride) in the U.S. Key Chemical also supplies other chemistries to the municipal water, industrial and oil and gas markets. The acquired business will combine with Univar USA's operations.

Founded in 2002, Key Chemical specializes in blends of hydrofluosilicic acid that are UL certified to meet NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in water treatment fluoridation. Through a secondary storage facility, the company can store up to 500,000 gallons of inventory, providing security of supply for its regional customer base. The company has headquarters in Waxhaw, N.C.
