The European Federation of Chemical Engineering, Brussels, has named Harry Van den Akker, professor of transport phenomena at the Technical University of Delft, Delft, the Netherlands, and professor of fluid mechanics at the University of Limerick, Limerick, Ireland, as the winner of the 2015 BHR Group Lifetime Recognition Award in Mixing.
The award recognizes his contributions to mixing science and technology during his 38-year career. His published work is included among the 20 most cited articles in significant journals in the field.
The triennial award is sponsored by the BHR Group and includes a €1,500 cash prize and a certificate.
