The American Chemical Society (ACS), Washington, D.C., has launched mobile pairing technology that eases access for authorized users from institutions that subscribe to any of the society’s 47 peer-reviewed research journals. It enables secure and convenient on-the-go access to more than 1 million journal articles as well as other ACS publications.
The key functionality of the new ACS2Go is pairing authentication with tablets and smart phones— users can have pairing last 120 days, eliminating the need during that period for additional log-in steps when wanting to view pages away from home institutions. Tablet and smart phone users can access ACS2Go at http://pubs.acs.org/page/acs2go.
ACS2Go also is compatible with gesture commands, such as swiping, and allows individual configuration to a person’s preferences. It works on iOS, Android and Blackberry operating systems.
