Eastman Chemical Names Mark Costa CEO

Rogers will continue to serve as chairman and CEO until Jan. 1 and will then serve as executive chairman of the board.

Mark Costa will replace James Rogers as CEO of the Eastman Chemical Co. effective Jan. 1, 2014, the company said May 14.  Costa currently serves as the company’s executive vice president. The board also  appointed Costa to the positions of president and director, which take effect immediately.

Costa will serve as director until the company’s annual stockholders meeting in 2014.

Rogers, 62, will continue to serve as chairman and CEO until Jan. 1 and will then serve as executive chairman of the board.

Costa, 47, currently heads the company’s Additives & Functional Products and Advanced Materials segments and is chief marketing officer. He is responsible for the company's corporate innovation organization. Since joining Eastman in 2006, he has held a number of executive positions. He has been instrumental in developing Eastman’s growth strategies, has led Eastman’s global supply chain and served as senior vice president of the Polymers Group. Prior to joining Eastman, Costa was a senior partner within Monitor Group's integrated North American and global client service networks.
