Company Information

Olin Corp. is a Clayton, Mo.-based manufacturer of chlor alkali products and Winchester-branded ammunition. The company was incorporated in 1892. It became the third-largest producer of chlor alkali products in North America after it purchased chemicals producer Pioneer Companies for approximately $415 million in 2007. The company's Chlor Alkali business segment manufactures chlorine and caustic soda, sodium hydrosulfite, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen, potassium hydroxide and bleach products. During the year ended December 31, 2007, chlor alkali products segment represented 66% of the total sales, according to Reuters.

    Joseph Rupp

    Chairman, President and CEO

    Rupp, 57, has served as chairman of Olin since July 2005 and held the positions of president and CEO since January 2002. Prior to that and since March 2001, he was executive vice president of operations, and was responsible for all Olin business operations including the former Brass Division (which became part of the former Metals Group in 2002), Winchester and Chlor Alkali Products. He joined Olin’s brass division in 1972 and held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the Brass Division manufacturing and engineering organization. In 1985, he was appointed vice president of manufacturing and engineering. He was appointed president of Olin Brass and a corporate vice president in 1996.

    President and Chief Operating Officer

    On May 4, 2014, Olin Corp. promoted Fischer, 58, to the role of president and chief operating officer.

    Fischer previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer since October 2010 and as vice president and chief financial officer from May 2005 through October 2010. He joined Olin in 1989 as a director of finance and was the vice president and chief financial officer for Primex Technologies, Inc., a spin-off of Olin's aerospace and defense businesses, before rejoining Olin in 2004.

    Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

    George Pain re-joined Olin on April 15, 2002 as vice president of general counsel and secretary. Prior to that time, he served as vice president and general counsel of General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems Inc., an operating unit of General Dynamics Corp., according to Reuters.
