The lamp is constructed to be completely weather and impact resistant.

The FTL-3-LED-25 LED drop light from Larson Electronics is constructed for weather and impact resistance without sacrificing light output or quality. Equipped with a 2' LED T8 lamp and a 2' polycarbonate lens, the LED drop light reportedly operates at cooler temperatures than conventional incandescent and fluorescent lights to reduce the chance of fire and burns. The 14 watt T8 style LED lamp produces 1,750 lumens and requires no ballast to operate, according to Larson. The lightly frosted lens diffuses the light, making it suitable for food safe environments as there is no glass. The nylon housing provides rigidity and strength. The drop light comes standard with a set of drop hooks to allow users to hang the unit overhead anywhere illumination is needed. The LED task light is equipped with 25' of SOOW cable terminated in an optional plug and operates on current ranging from 120 to 277 volts AC, as well as 11 to 25 volts for low voltage applications.
