Manifold-Mounted Ejector System Reduces Energy Consumption

Ejectors have been designed to reduce energy consumption for manufacturers while increasing productivity and reliability.

Piab has updated its piCompact range, a manifold-mounted and functional ejector system based on the Coax technology. By working at low-feed pressure and maximizing the utilization rate of the compressed air, the Coax ejectors have been designed to reduce energy consumption for manufacturers while increasing productivity and reliability.

Products in the piCompact range are suitable for pick-and-place operations where efficient handling of small, heavy parts is crucial, including electronics, semiconductor, plastics and the wood industry. Using Piab’s Coax cartridges, the piCompact range provides three times more vacuum flow than similar products, according to Piab. This may reduce energy consumption by 30 percent to 50 percent. By offering an increased vacuum flow, the ejectors may strengthen product grip to increase pickup speed, minimize product damage and reduce waste.

The intelligent energy-saving (ES) function effectively turns off the compressed air usage when set vacuum level is achieved. In addition, ACM eliminates the issue of "motor-boating,” where the vacuum generator cycles on and off repeatedly in case of leakage. ACM automatically senses if ES is needed or not. It can also be used for monitoring when it is time to replace worn out suction cups.

The piCompact vacuum ejectors are available in a broad selection to fit with a variety of systems, including those that require very low feed pressure or extra deep vacuum levels. In addition, the compact ejectors can be integrated into existing production lines with no modifications required and configured to meet individual manufacturing needs.
