Koch Membrane Systems Inc., a Koch Chemical Technology Group, released its new MegaPure hollow fiber product line, designed for high-solids water and wastewater applications.  The product features an advanced cartridge design for better solids management and a reinforced hollow fiber for reliability.

The MegaPure product line fills an important niche within the KMS family of ultrafiltration membranes.  With an average continuous solids tolerance of up to 250 mg/L, the MegaPure hollow fiber system is a suitable solution for high-solids applications, such as surface-water treatment, high-TOC water treatment, RO pretreatment and tertiary wastewater treatment.

Potential advantages offered by the MegaPure product line include the elimination of clarifier pretreatment in many applications, minimized downtime, reduced chemical usage, simplified operation and a lower total cost of ownership.

The MegaPure ultrafiltration system features a single-potting cartridge design, which allows air scouring to penetrate the fiber bundle more completely and release accumulated solids to the bottom where they are drained away.  The cartridge employs the same reinforced fiber made by the company’s PURON submerged hollow fiber product line.
