System Eases Remote Valve Testing

System’s steel blocking pins ensure valves can’t be operated past the preset test angle.

The FAITH partial stroke test system can now remotely conduct online tests of emergency shutdown (ESD) and high integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS) valves. Operators can reduce degradation and ensure proper operation of emergency valves from the safety of the control room.

FAITH is said to be designed to integrate into a valve’s static and dynamic couplings. The system’s steel blocking pins ensure valves can’t be operated past the preset test angle to eliminate the risk of overshoot or process interruption. With remote testing, operators can conduct and monitor partial stroke tests without the need to manually access the system.
