Gas Chromatograph Features Color Touch-Screen Display

Siemens Maxum Gas Chromatograph (GC) has been upgraded with a host of analytical, usability, and software features. The latest enhancement to the Maxum GC is a new color touch-screen user interface that will be standard on all Maxum GCs. 

Now available for the Maxum GC platform is a new color touch-screen user interface that replaces black and white LCD panels. The 10-inch display is suitable for hazardous locations and is certified by CSA and ATEX for use in Division I / Zone 1 environments. The new display combines previous menu-driven options with additional intuitive icons and graphical elements to increase the speed and simplicity of interactions with the GC during maintenance and operation.

For existing users, the new color display is available as an upgrade kit if desired. Installation is only requires replacing the electronics compartment door and connecting appropriate cables.

 The new user interface is the latest in a line of enhancements to the Maxum GC, including networking features, such as Modbus TCP communication protocol via Ethernet for simplified connectivity to plant control systems and the GC Portal workstation software, an upgrade of the System Manager and EZChrom software, enabling easier monitoring and modifications to Ethernet connected Maxum GCs.

Siemens process gas chromatographs, including its Maxum, MicroSAM, and Sitrans CV, are used in all branches of fine chemicals, refining and hydrocarbon processing industries and perform chemical composition analysis of gases and liquids that are present in all phases of production.
