Cabinets Extend Safe Shutdown

90-minute protection capability ensures plant operators are able to continue remotely controlling critical valves.

A range of cabinets protect critical process equipment in hazardous areas against high-temperature fires, ensuring equipment such as emergency shutdown valves remain operational by keeping them below 60°C for periods of up to 90 minutes, to allow time for controlled shutdown.

The 90-minute protection capability, tested against the ANSI/UL 1709 standard, ensures plant operators are able to continue remotely controlling critical valves so that the process cannot feed the fire with flammable materials, or that vessels do not burst from over-pressurization. Additionally, it provides as much control time as possible to support personnel evacuation procedures and fire fighting responses.
