Spray Nozzle Handles Alcohol, Solvents

New model provides accurate spray placement and pattern integrity.
A new electrically-actuated hydraulic PulsaJet nozzle from Spraying Systems Co. is FM-approved for spraying alcohol- and solvent-based fluids in Zone 1 rated hazardous locations. The nozzle, which complies with EU safety directives (ATEX and CE) as well as National Electrical Code 505, provides accurate spray placement and spray pattern integrity in high-speed or low-capacity applications.
Suited for use in lubricating, dispensing, marking and coating operations, the Zone 1 rated PulsaJet offers high-speed cycling—up to 10,000 cycles per minute—to enable faster line speeds and increased productivity. When used with an AutoJet spray controller, the nozzle can be cycled on and off very quickly at a controlled frequency to achieve pulse width modulated (PWM) flow control.
With PWM flow control, the flow rate can be controlled very precisely while pressure remains constant. This enables flow rate to be changed quickly and allows extremely high-flow turndown ratios at a single pressure. Other benefits of PWM flow control include relatively low flow rates to be generated with larger clog-resistant UniJet spray tips and reduced fluid consumption by eliminating overspray and waste.
