PKP Process Instruments introduces the DS04 flow switch. Suited for measuring and monitoring the flow of low viscosity liquids and gases, the DS04 works on the variable area principal and utilizes a float that is guided in a cylindrical measuring tube by means of a slotted nozzle. The flowing medium moves the float in the flow direction. One or two reed switches in the sealed housing are magnetically coupled to the float and factory preset or field adjustable over the range of the instrument. An optional external pointer indicator, which is magnetically coupled to the float, can also be supplied to indicate flow rate.

The DS04 can be supplied with brass or 316 stainless steel wetted parts and Buna or Viton seals. Available pipe sizes include ¼, ½, ¾, 1 and 1-1/4 inch, with full scale ranges from 1.5 LPM to 50 LPM water and 28 SLPM to 240 SLPM air. The flow switch is pressure rated up to 2,900 PSIG for brass and 4,350 PSIG for stainless steel. An explosion proof model is also available.
