3E Company introduces the WebInsight 5.1

3E Company introduces the WebInsight 5.1, an enhanced version of its WebInsight regulatory compliance solution. WebInsight 5.1 features GHS Tools and Phrases which facilitate global EH&S compliance by giving users a better understanding of the local implications of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for classification and labeling of chemicals.

The GHS Tools and Phrases provide easy access to official GHS classifications provided by governments. WebInsight users have access to substance classifications published by Japanese, European and New Zealand authorities, with additional countries to be added regularly. Users can also input Directive 67/548 EEC Annex I Danger Symbols and R-phrases into WebInsight and the system will provide the appropriate GHS translation based on Annex VII of the EU GHS proposal.

The new functionality allows users to derive the substance level GHS health classification for Carcinogenicity, Germ Cell Mutagenicity and Reproductive Toxicity. These classifications are based on a variety of sources, including the US National Toxicology Program (NTP), International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), American Conference of Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), and EU Directive 67/548, to ensure the derivation of the correct GHS classification. These checks are also integrated with Ariel WebInsight's vast Generics database.

The following features are also included:

  • GHS Labels. WebInsight now generates a label with the right pictograms, hazard and precautionary statements, based on a GHS classification. The labeling tool takes into account country variations in the implementation of GHS. The current version generates labels in English, Korean and Japanese.
  • Full Text Module. The Full Text module provides single click access to all of the latest news on national GHS implementations. Overviews are written by the Ariel regulatory team to keep the user up to date on all the latest developments and provide an understanding of how countries are adopting GHS in their national regulatory frameworks.
  • GHS Phrases. A multilingual phrase module is provided at no additional charge to WebInsight subscribers. The multilingual phrase module allows the user to access (M)SDS header and sub-header phrases, Risk and Safety phrases and now GHS phrases in multiple languages.
