BASF Catalysts Offers Green, Cost Effective Technology

BASF Catalysts, a leader in catalysis, recently introduced two new, lead-free Pd-based NanoSelect 100 and 200™ catalysts for use in fine chemical and pharmaceutical applications.

The two heterogeneous catalysts, from its NanoSelect technology platform, were developed to meet the market requirements of providing a lead-free replacement for Lindlar catalysts, which have long been used in hydrogenation. Characterized by similar activity and selectivity in specific hydrogenation reactions, the new catalysts are an environmentally friendly alternative for Lindlar catalysts. The BASF NanoSelect 100 and 200 catalysts are also designed to achieve significant cost savings by using approximately 10-times lower amounts of precious metals.
