Cost-effective Metal Detector Introduced for Bulk Flow Products

July 15, 2008

Mettler-Toledo Safeline introduces its new cost-effective metal detector. Designed for dry processing applications, the Gravity FlowSD metal detector can detect ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel contaminants in high volume, free flowing powders and granular products.

Available as a free-standing unit with a reduced footprint or as a suspended unit, it offers four-inch, six-inch and eight-inch infeed and discharge pipes and high-speed reject-valve to divert contaminated products. Utilizing quick-release clamps, the reject diverter can be quickly dismantled without tools and swung open to allow thorough cleaning of both the throughput pipe and the reject mechanism, saving valuable time. An intuitive user interface offers rapid operator training and ease of use for maximum uptime.

Mettler-Toledo Safeline's patented “Zero Metal Free Zone” (ZMFZ) technology minimizes the installation space required for easy integration into new or existing lines offering a cost savings. The technology reduces the length needed for the infeed and allows the reject mechanism to be positioned close to the metal detector without metallic interference or false rejects.
