Self-cleaning Filters Prolong Component Life

April 4, 2007

Schroeder Industries introduces the SC line of automatic self-cleaning filters. The SC line is used to remove solid contamination from process fluids and to protect the integrity of high grade components that depend on low-viscosity, water or water based lubricants. The SC line is reportedly ideal for applications where fluid flow cannot be interrupted and must be maintained at an acceptable cleanliness level.

The SC can achieve flow rates up to 33,000 gpm with ANSI flange sizes ranging from two to 36 inches. Removal of contamination particles is accomplished with slotted tube filter elements ranging from 50 to 3,000 microns and Super mesh Filter Elements with 25 to 40 microns. Due to the unique single-element cleaning process, the total filtered flow is not reduced during the cleaning process.

With its construction and virtually maintenance-free filtration, the SC line requires very little follow-up when properly sized. The filters are available in a range of sizes — from the smallest SC02 up to a high-capacity SC36.

The SC02 filter can handle up to 120 gallons per minute of water or low-viscosity fluids. The SC04 - SC08 can filter up to 1980 gallons each minute, while the SC10 - SC36 can take on 33,000 gallons of water a minute — which can equate to over 47 millions gallons per day (MGD).

Additional SC line advantages include low operating cost, consistent operation through high-quality, cleanable filtration, low pressure drop during cleaning, and high flow rate.
