Peristaltic Pumps Are Designed for the Metering, Dosing and Transferring of Sensitive Fluids

March 14, 2007

Watson-Marlow Bredel introduced its 520/620/720 family of peristaltic pumps are designed for the accurate metering, dosing and transferring of sensitive fluids in sanitary environments, making them ideal for accurate filtration, fermentation, dispensing, coating and seamless integration into reusable or disposable of bioprocess applications.

The now-standard Watson-Marlow Bredel five-year warranty, the longest of any peristaltic pump manufacturer, protects all pumps within the 520/620/720 family.

As the newest addition to the Watson-Marlow Bredel family, the 720 Series peristaltic pump allows for production speed and flow control for high-capacity throughput, allowing the user to scale up from laboratory operations to production using the same pump interface familiar to the 520 and 620 user. The 720 Series offers flow rates up to 33 liters/minute and peak pressures up to 30 psi.

The 520/620 peristaltic pumps combine power and control in a compact and rugged package. The 520 combines the ability to perform in process applications with dispensing and dosing programming built in to handle the most delicate laboratory environments and the demanding accuracy of filling lines. The 620 Series is ideal for a wide range of biotech and pharmaceutical applications, including the scale transfer of pharmaceutical products, live cell cultures, nutrients and bioreactor constituents.

Every Watson-Marlow Bredel peristaltic pump is an inherent metering pump with repeatability at up to 99.5 percent. Many models include integral digital drives and displays in washdown enclosures. These self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates from 0.1 microliter to 35 gpm, and are extremely durable, withstanding pressures up to 90 psi. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners, or glands to impede flow, and these pumps are reversible for back-flushing lines. Several pumps have built in CIP capability. They can also run dry indefinitely without damage and provide up to a 30-foot suction lift.
