Eurotherm Controls Inc. says its RFS DIN rail-mount temperature controller offers up to two control outputs: a universal thermocouple (or RTD input) and a responsive SMART continuous auto-tuning PID control algorithm. The controller is ideally suited for temperature control in plastic extruders, injection hot runners, small ovens and refrigeration applications.

Modular interconnection allows simultaneous connection of all common instrument elements: power supply, serial interface, logic input and open collector for common alarms. The RFS alarm-logic input expansion unit makes use of the modular interconnection function to provide additional I/O capacity. Synchronized pre-heating eliminates differential heating during startup due to different heating rates of individual heaters.
