ABB completed its acquisition of Mountain View, Calif.-based Los Gatos Research (LGR). The acquisition, first announced May 2, adds a new line of high-performance gas analyzers to ABB’s measurement products business.
LGR, a 19-year-old, 40-person company, provides analyzers and services to a wide range of customers who need real-time measurement of trace gases and isotopes for research and environmental monitoring. Its laser-based measurement strategies allow for non-destructive analysis of gases and liquids.
The acquisition complements ABB’s existing measurement technology portfolio with a number of new solutions for industrial customers in oil and gas production and transportation, combustion, emissions, power generation and environmental monitoring.
LGR’s employees will join the global measurement products business unit in ABB’s process automation division. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
