Honeywell opened a new regional automation college in Hanoi, Vietnam. Opened in partnership with Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and PetroVietnam University, the college will boost the technical skills of local engineers through a variety of different training initiatives as well as build a strong future talent pool for the process industry in Vietnam and surrounding Southeast Asia, according to Honeywell.

Honeywell Process Solutions will provide the full suite of equipment – both hardware and software – that will be used in the curriculum. The college is located at PetroVietnam University, where thousands of students are expected to go through its courses over the next three years.

Developed with more than two dozen standard and customized courses, the Honeywell Automation College will cater to both undergraduates in process and chemical engineering and experienced engineering professionals, including plant operators, maintenance technicians, implementation engineers, system administrators and management. As part of the training, students at the college will also gain hands-on experience with Honeywell process automation solutions such as the Experion Process Knowledge System and Safety Manager.
