Yokogawa Corporation of America Education Center and Cape Software have introduced expandable operator training simulators (OTS) designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of Yokogawa Centum VP and CS 3000 users.

The companies are providing a full-function OTS that is scaled back for more affordability. The OTS includes a choice of several standard, generic processes and approximately 50 tags and associated loops. The OTS can train the operator in control terms, concepts, screen navigation and responding to alarm situations. It also has the ability to create manual process upsets during your operator training.

In addition, the OTS can adjust the amount of “process noise” in loops to practice loop tuning.

OTS can be customized to a site and be used for debugging graphics, control program changes and new process loops before they’re loaded to the Centum VP or CS 3000 system. The OTS response can be modeled to an actual process reaction

Included in the OTS are two PCs and monitors to start the system, Centum VP or CS 3000 basic Human Interface Station operation and engineering software, Cape operator training simulator for the selected OTS, selected generic process with basic operation procedures, GB switch and cables and loading and testing of all software.
