May 04, 2011

Emerson has opened an engineering and development center within its Asia Flow Technology Center.

The center is located in Nanjing, China, and operated by Emerson Process Management. The center will help the company strengthen its ability to support customers in the region with process automation technologies and solutions to meet their needs, Emerson says.

The new center brings Emerson’s total investment in the operation in Nanjing to more than $35 million.

Some of the engineering and development capabilities being added to the facility will include sensor and electronics design, multifluid application testing, environmental testing and analysis, and modeling capabilities for Micro Motion Coriolis flow and density meters.

Products designed and developed at this facility will be used to serve customers in the oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, marine, life sciences, food and beverage, metals and mining, and pulp and paper industries.

The site expansion includes adding design engineering office space and the addition of comprehensive engineering test and design equipment.
