Meggitt Announces Name Change For Wilcoxon Research

Apr 07, 2011

As part of an organizational restructuring, Meggitt Sensing Systems has renamed its Wilcoxon Research vibration sensors division Meggitt (Maryland) Inc.

The change took effect March 31, the company said. Meggitt (Maryland) will be one of eight Meggitt facilities doing business as Meggitt Sensing Systems. The Meggitt group, of which Wilcoxon Research has been a member company since 2004, is now co-coordinating its businesses through five divisions.

The corporate name change formalizes the company’s alignment with this new organizational structure.

Meggitt (Maryland) continues to be a legal entity incorporated in Maryland, so customers and vendors have no need to novate or assign any current contracts or placed orders, the company said.

The name Wilcoxon Research will still be used to reference the company’s line of accelerometers and vibration products but not as a legal entity.

The reorganization is designed to transform the Meggitt group from a set of approximately 30 individual worldwide into one engineering group
